Here am I,
Protector of my people.
Growing from Goddess of the River
to Goddess of the Ocean,
as I travel with my people,
chained beneath the decks of ships,
across the deep and stormy seas.
(Thousands, millions of them, dying at sea.)
I endure with them
as they travel farther and farther
from the homeland,
far from the river of our birth.
Taken in slavery,
whipped,
separated from their families,
starved into submission,
and even when freed,
subjugated,
beaten down,
ridiculed and battered with lies.
I am with them.
I come to heal.
I come to heal.
I come to love.
Come enter love with me.
